Foil Characters in Hamlet

Do you feel that there are any foil characters in Hamlet? (You may have to remind yourself what a foil character is...) If you feel that there are, use the comment board to identify some and explain what effect the foil relationship has on the play, whether its plot of character development.

Hamlet & Laertes.

I know you mentioned this in class, but I noticed a few good points:

Foil characters normally have a thing or two in common. In the case of Hamlet and Laertes, both of their fathers have been killed. They both want to avenge the deaths, as well.

The foil is that only one of the two possesses the drive to take revenge without hesitation: Laertes. Hamlet, though just as enraged and motivated, is still hesitant to do what needs to be done.
