AP Test Prep

AP Test Prep

I want you to spend at least two hours over break or the week after break on AP Test Prep. I have linked several sites on the blog that you can go for practice tests, tips, etc. Once you have logged the two hours, you need to leave a comment on the blog. Below are several options for your AP Test Prep time. Don't forget to comment on this blog post once you have logged your 2 hours! (It won't show your comment right away. I have to approve comments before they show up on here.)

Varsity Tutors
This site does not require you to set up an account to use, but if you do, it keeps track of your scores and such.  It includes diagnostic tests, practice tests, flashcards, etc. It also offers explanation as to why certain answers are correct and incorrect on the practice tests. You could spend quite a bit of time on this site!

  10. I looked at the practice test and the resources which included tips for the essays and literary terms. The thing I need to work on the most is vocabulary. There are many words in the passage and the question itself, which leads to not getting the correct answer. Also, there are many literary terms which I don't know. I need to look over that as well. The toolbox we did for some books really helps since there are questions about themes and characters.

  18. Done! Primarily focused on MC as that is where I feel I am the weakest, but also took a look at some tips for the essay questions. The flashcards of AP Lit terms were particularly helpful for me. - Will S.

  21. I did one hour of test prep today from 4:00-5:00 and then another hour from 5:40-6:40. During this time I reviewed two sets of flashcards to find that many of the words we need to know are used in class every day. I then read several articles on how to make an essay reader happy and how to avoid common bad essay mistakes. I learned that these people do not like flowery essays. They want you to get to the point while still expanding further than the prompt and make interesting and deep observations so that they can really see that you're talking about. I also did some practice multiple choice and tried to do them quickly do work on time management.
